Stuffed Bacon Cheddar Burgers

Makes: 12-18 Prep time: 15 min Cook Time Time: 15 min Total Time: 30 min

Ingredients

4 lbs ground beef

1 lb Johnston’s thick-cut bacon chopped into bite-size pieces

2 cups shredded cheddar

1 bunch green onion thinly sliced

30 Ritz or your favourite buttery-style crackers crumbled

2 eggs

2 tbsp steak spice

1 tbsp seasoning salt

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp garlic powder

3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

In a frying pan on medium heat, cook the bacon until medium done (not crispy). Drain the fat, place in a bowl and place in the fridge to slightly cool. In a large mixing bowl, mix the ground beef with all the other ingredients, adding the bacon last. Form into 12 1-inch thick patties or 18 average-size ones. Grill immediately and enjoy or pack between wax paper and freeze for up to six months!

Notes: If cooking the burgers the same day, I like to put them in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes to firm up before grilling.
