Everything Croissant Breakfast Strata

Serves: 6-8 Prep time: 85 min Cook Time Time: 60 min Total Time: 2 hours 40 min

Ingredients

6 croissants cut into pieces

8 eggs

1.5 cups whole milk

2 tbsp Hofstede’s Everything Spice

3 cups shredded marble cheese

1 large yellow onion halved and thinly sliced

3 tbsp salted butter

2 green onion thinly sliced

3 cups cubed ham

Directions

Heat oven to 350. Place your cut croissants onto a cookie sheet and bake until crispy (about 10-15 mins). While the croissants crisp, add the onions and butter to a frying pan on medium heat and cook onions until they become caramelized. Once the onion is caramelized, remove them from the heat and let cool. Next, in a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and everything spice, and then stir in 1.5 cups of cheese. Next, in a 12x8 baking dish, layer the bottom with half the croissants, half the ham, half the egg mixture and then again with the remaining croissant pieces and ham. Next, spread the caramelized onion evenly over top and then pour the remaining egg mixture. Sprinkle the green onion and remaining cheese on top and a few shakes of everything spice. Place in the fridge covered for at least an hour or overnight before baking. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Check with a toothpick. The toothpick should come out clean, and the top should be browned. Serve on its own or with fruit and or hashbrowns. Enjoy!!

Notes:

You can substitute the ham with chopped bacon or breakfast sausage.
