Brown Sugar Bacon Sausage Bites

Ingredients

2 Grimm’s kielbasa rings

1 pkg 375g thin sliced bacon

3/4 cup demerara sugar

toothpicks

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Prepare the Kielbasa and Bacon:

    • Slice the kielbasa rings on a slight angle into bite-sized pieces.

    • Cut the bacon slices in half.

  3. Wrap and Secure:

    • Wrap each slice of kielbasa with a half-slice of bacon.

    • Secure with a toothpick to hold everything in place.

  4. Assemble and Bake:

    • Place the bacon-wrapped kielbasa bites in a baking dish.

    • Sprinkle half of the demerara sugar evenly over the bites.

    • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  5. Add Sugar and Baste:

    • Remove the foil and sprinkle the remaining demerara sugar over the bites.

    • Use a turkey baster to baste the bites with the liquid from the pan.

  6. Continue Baking:

    • Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for another 30 minutes. Baste the bites 3-4 more times during this step for maximum flavor.

  7. Crisp the Bacon (Optional):

    • For crispier bacon, broil on high for the last 5 minutes of cooking. Be sure to baste at least once during this time.

  8. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

    • Enjoy these decadent bites responsibly—they’re so good, it’s hard to stop at just one!
