Orange Creamsicle Cookies
Serves: 24 Prep time: 45 min Cook Time:12 min Total Time: 57 min
Ingredients
1 cup softened butter
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tbsp orange zest
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Frosting
1/2 cup softened butter
1 8 ounce pkg softened cream cheese
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp orange zest
optional extra zest to top frosting
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350. In a large bowl or stand mixer cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, sour cream, and orange zest. Then stir in flour, cornstarch, salt & baking powder. Let chill in fridge for 30 mins. Roll dough into balls on cookie sheet (will make 24). Bake for 11-14 minutes then cool. In a medium bowl or stand mixer add all your frosting ingredients and mix until smooth. Spread or pipe onto your cooled cookies. Add extra zest on top if desired. Keep cool. Cookies will last up to 5 days in an airtight container in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer. Enjoy!
Notes: we used Seville (Marmalade) Oranges but you can use any!
